Our Aims:

According to the English Language Curriculum Guide (P.1-6) (CDC, 2004, p.11), the overall aims of the English Language Education curriculum are: 

• to provide every learner of a second language with further opportunities for extending their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies, pleasure and work in the English medium; and

 • to enable every learner to prepare for the changing socio-economic demands resulting from advances in information technology; these demands include the interpretation, use and production of materials for pleasure, study and work in the English medium.

Teach reading strategies and promote enjoyment of reading in an authentic English environment

Develop students skills and interest in the areas of reading and writing, as well as listening and speaking

P.4 Promoting Effective English Language Learning in Primary Schools (PEEGS)

  Promote reading across the curriculum—Applying English to various subjects (Science, General Studies, Current Events, Arts) so that students can “Read to Learn” about the World around them

-Promote self-directed learning through use of online English games and resources for students to enjoy and practice at home
